Thank you for visiting our FAQ page. Below you will find the answers to our most frequently asked questions about the range. Since North 40 operates differently than most other gun ranges we also have different procedures for booking and how our ranges work. We like to say we are a public meets private range where we allow shooters to book private range time on our ranges to shoot without the dangers of unknown shooters on the same range as them. When you, your family, or group books a range you'll be the only ones on the range for your 4 hour rental. No, as of now we do not offer a membership option for range time. We do plan to offer this as the range expands and has more member areas. Everyone on the range however does have to sign the waiver to be on property.
All range time is booked through the website, you can book time on any of our 3 bays based on availability show on the calendar under book range time on the home page or on the links below.
If you are bringing addional shooters to the range you can add them to your booking through the store section on the website you will have to do this separately from your booking. Immediate family members, IE Spouses and children do not count as additional shooters. Everyone on the range does need to sign the waiver but only those shooting need to pay the additional range fees.
Yes, since the rentals are private and you are the only group on your range as a group you can move down range to the berm to shoot pistols. We do recommend you bring your own targets and stands for this.
Yes, since the rentals are private and you are the only group on your range as a group you can move down range to the berm to shoot shotguns. We do recommend you bring your own targets and stands for this. You cannot shoot our rifle targets with shotguns as it tears them up to fast. Also we ask shotgun shooters to please pickup your hulls and dispose of them. Our brass picker doesn't pick them up.
The rifle range has targets at 50, 100, and 200 yards there is also usually steel available at 125 and 200 yards.
The 500 yard range has targets at 100, 200 and 500 yards, steel is only allowed at the 500 yard distance.
The 360 Tac Bay has a 25X50 yard turf base and in total is 50x80 there are barricades and barrels in the bay for use as well as a target stand and backer for each paid shooter in the bay.
Yes we have an air-conditioned restroom available to all guests in the tower infant of the house off the main entrance road.
No, we are by appointment only, if you already have an appointment you can add shooters to your group but we don't have open range time you must make an appointment.
